Tug Engineers Port of Salalah Oman Male Qualifications: High school diploma and additional technical education - Class 3E certificate of competency or STCW equivalent Sea survival certificate Fire-fighting certificate Basic medical first aid certificate Watch keeping certificate At least 2 years as engineer or relief engineer on board tugs or small coastal vessels. Additional experience as engineer of conventional and tractor tugs desirable Requires specific technical knowledge in the maintenance and repair of tugs. Must be thoroughly familiar with all types of vessels that call at port. Must be able to replace/repair/adjust major mechanical/hydraulic parts. Must be familiar with electronic instrumentation Requires advanced level of verbal and written communications skills in English Requires ability to submit accurate and detailed reports Requires good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and suppliers Must be able to exercise good judgment in order to set priorities Must have the ability to train potential engineers Requires proven IT skills or aptitude.
