  • Qualifications:
    • Postgraduate degrees from a multidisciplinary technical school with an engineer’s degree or similar.
    • Experience in the area of quality and a similar position for at least five years.
    • Experience in reading, writing and speaking English and French.
    • Computer knowledge: Word, Excel, Power Point, PDF; knowledge of the use of Win PCS would be an advantage.
    • Strong ability to lead, ability to manage and fit into a team, interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to communicate with ease, to write quality reports, to negotiate.
    • Professional experience leading to an in-depth understanding of the skills described above.
    Task Description:
    • Responsible for overseeing issues affecting HSE [health, safety and environment] in the assigned sector or sectors, promoting compliance with the health and safety regulations, a “zero accident” culture, together with the superintendent of the sector or sectors under consideration.
    • Responsible for checking quality plans and quality inspection plans issued by the Contractors and then applying them strictly.
    • Responsible for checking procedures issued by the Contractors and their compliance with the applicable specifications, procedures, standards, regulations and decrees.
    • Responsible for the proper application of construction documents, plans, procedures, specifications, standards and regulations applicable to the works that he or she inspects or arranges to have inspected.
    • Ensuring that instructions received from the quality manager are applied.
    • Responsible for managing the QA/QC personnel allocated to the sectors for which he or she is responsible; coordinates, with the works manager, the inspections that have to be carried out in accordance with the quality control inspection plans, inspections carried out by the QC inspectors or the EK construction supervisors.
    • Responsible for the exhaustiveness and quality of inspections, checks and tests done in the sectors of which he or she is in charge.
    • Checking the integrity of the Win PCS database management system concerning the quality documents to be produced. (Ensuring that items to be inspected, inspection sheets to be produced, and suppliers’ requests to be considered are not forgotten.)
    • Responsible for collecting check lists and inspection and test sheets, for reviewing them and distributing them through Win PCS, and for doing this for the sectors of which he or she is in charge.
    • Proposing to the quality manager check lists that may not exist and may be necessary. Submitting to the quality manager proposed changes to check lists that he or she deems necessary.
    • Ensuring that the progress reports issued by Win PCS concerning inspection, check and test sheets correspond to reality, and doing this for the sectors of which he or she is in charge.
    • Ensuring that the construction Contractors comply with their contractual obligations as regards quality or which are linked to quality.
    • Carrying out QA/QC audits of Contractors at the request of the quality manager; producing the associated reports.
    • Issuing or arranging for the issue of non-conformance reports; managing them until they are closed.
    • Participating in coordination meetings with the Contractors in his or her sectors, and ensuring that the meeting minutes record the QC statistics and the actions to be taken by the Contractors or other stakeholders.
    • Managing and running the team for the sector or sectors for which he or she is responsible, while fulfilling his or her mandate and demonstrating leadership and exemplary integrity in order to guarantee that the QA/QC team for the sector or sectors works in compliance with the project procedures, standards and requirements.
    • Ensuring that all quality control activities for the designated sector are well planned, coordinated and prioritised; making good use of the available resources.
    • Working in close cooperation with the site engineering and planning services to ensure that the work is done in compliance with the prescribed quality standards. In the event of a variation in comparison with the project documents, ensuring that the variation or concession applications have been made and have been approved by authorised persons.
    • Checking, commenting on and accepting the manufacturer data records issued by Contractors working in the sector or sectors of which he or she is in charge.
    • Working in close cooperation with the project construction team, coordinating the control activities with the construction activities, assisting the construction team.
    • Producing a daily activity report showing the activities carried out, the action taken, the actions to be taken; distributing the report to the managers of the areas concerned, and to his or her QC manager.
    • Participating in the daily meetings of the quality department, and keeping up to date the action lists that are his or her responsibility.
    • Classifying the punch list items into categories A, B, C according to their criticality in the area or areas for which he or she is responsible.
    • Ensuring that the punch list items in the area or areas of which he or she is in charge are worked through and addressed.
    • Ensuring that the Win PCS reports concerning the status of the punch lists reflects the reality, and doing this for the areas of which he or she is in charge.
    • Ensuring that preventive maintenance or equipment preservation operations are properly carried out in the area of which he or she is in charge.
